So far it's not the user-space is musl based, which is why the path
contain musl here (that's how OpenWrt/LEDE differentiates, based on the
packages' target C library), but the host is a plain glibc.

Now that you mention that, on a real x86/musl host, I doubt that the
linker command would work, since libutil, librt and libpthread are most
likely already part of libc.a in musl. Might be worth fixing later.

I ran into another problem after rebasing to v4.1-2rc2 though, which
makes me thing it's the same as this one I ran on MIPS a while ago which
should be fixed with:

Yes, that sort of makes sense, I wonder if we could just change the
symbols visibility and be done with that, but like you said, I have no
idea how we can control what the linker pulls in.
