Looking at the trace we are waiting for mmap_sem which is a per-process
lock. The question is who is holding mmap_sem of firefox for such a long
time. For that doing (as root) 'echo w >/proc/sysrq-trigger' when firefox
gets blocked and posting the output could reveal some more details.

There are some valid reasons why mm could decide to write to the slow drive
while holding mmap_sem of the firefox process but these should mostly
happen on low-memory conditions. Anyway from the traces we should be able
to tell whether that's the case.

Seeing that md-raid is involved - be sure to have at least 3.4.5 kernel
because in previous 3.4 kernels md raid has a nasty bug causing hangs in
md-raid code. That could be possibly related as well.
