I reproduced this bug today, and reverting 89699605fe7cfd8611900346f61cb6cbf179b10a
does not fix it for me. Here's the backtrace:

It crashes on:
nouveau_bo_wr32(chan->notifier_bo, chan->m2mf_ntfy + 3, 0xffffffff);
