| |
Hello,
I am running Debian on a Toshiba TECRA A10 Laptop using a vanilla kernel with all modules built into the kernel.
I boot 2.6.32 without X11. After booting I see the wrong tty above the login prompt, sometimes tty4, tty5 or tty6. The boot messages are spread out to tty1 and the wrong tty.
On the wrong tty window the error message INIT: open(/dev/console): Input/output error appears.
Using the kernel parameter console=tty1 does not help.
With 2.6.31 all works fine and the boot ends in the tty1 console window as usual.
Bisecting the kernel leads to e11c675ede0d42a405ae595528bf0b29ce1ae56f as first bad commit.
The .config and dmesg is appended. If you need more info, let me know,
