From a separate thread and my own discussions with Kamalesh, I believe this is not actually a regression in 2.6.25-rc*, as some 2.6.24-rc kernel displayed the same problem. Unfortunately, it's a little tough to automatically bisect as the oops happens intermittently. In the other thread, though, Paul mentioned a patch which might fix the issue was merged recently.
