I have no idea, but the patch you pointed me to is not conditionalized with #if {kernel version >= 2.6.27} <insert info struct> #else <leave as in 1.53> #end and will only work on 2.6.27.7. The version I posted is backwards compatible with 2.6.27 backwards to earlier releases.
