Yes, it works.

Here's the updated patch, and I dropped the drivers/char/applicom.c
part as Jiri Slaby has better fix.

such as:

drivers/video/aty/atyfb_base.c:2713: warning: ‘aty_resume_chip’ defined but not used

Compile tests passed.
