With this patchset, a `make defconfig' results in:
CONFIG_OPROFILE=y
CONFIG_HAVE_OPROFILE=y
CONFIG_KPROBES=y
CONFIG_HAVE_KPROBES=y
You probably also need to change the defconfigs...
