I can try those kernels though.
The speed variations are not consistent, the clock is very uneven. For example, the seconds displayed by the clock in icewm does not only advance too fast, but sometimes by two seconds at a time. I.e. icewm wakes up after its 1-second timer expired (too fast) and then "time" has moved another second forward. No load is necessary to see this.
