SubjectIDE CDROM - No DMA

I have a "TSSTCorp"  CD-RW/DVD Drive in my laptop 
which is IDE1.  DMA is not enabled on this drive. (Copying from CDROM stalls
the machine - conforming that DMA is not really in use.)
