yes, i just checked, the script is looping and crond is starting a new one, and another....and the oom-killer does not catch it, because it's too small and of course don't know where it is coming from (crond).

yes, will do that. on a (not so unimportant) side-note: i was told the whole thing should be fixed with 2.6.11.4:
