per-user namespaces on /tmp would solve a lot of the problems faced by selinux with respect to directory permissions on /tmp/.font-unix and /tmp/.X11-unix.
there are a lot of legacy apps that no-one wants to modify to get them to create/read /tmp/x-windows/.X11-unix.
