SubjectPROBLEM: IPv6 Dependencies Incorrect (2.6.8-rc4)
[1.] One line summary of the problem: IPv6 Dependencies Incorrect

[2.] Full description of the problem/report: When compiling 2.6.8-rc4
on a sparc32 system to avoid some errors in 2.6.7 assembly code
routines, I found that hard-compiling CONFIG_IPV6 into the kernel while
leaving CONFIG_IPV6_TUNNEL as a module caused the kernel to fail to
link.

[3.] Keywords (i.e., modules, networking, kernel): networking, ipv6
[4.] Kernel version (from /proc/version): 2.6.8-rc4

[5.] Output of Oops.. message (if applicable) with symbolic information
resolved (see Documentation/oops-tracing.txt): N/A

[6.] A small shell script or example program which triggers the problem
(if possible): Compile with CONFIG_IPV6 as hard-link with
CONFIG_IPV6_TUNNEL as a module. Witness linking failure.

[7.] Environment: Sun SparcStation 5 (110mHz)

[7.1.] Software (add the output of the ver_linux script here):
sparcy:/usr/src/linux# sh scripts/ver_linux
If some fields are empty or look unusual you may have an old version.
Compare to the current minimal requirements in Documentation/Changes.

Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
sparcy:/usr/src/linux#
[7.7.] Other information that might be relevant to the problem (please
look in /proc and include all information that you think to be
relevant): N/A
[X.] Other notes, patches, fixes, workarounds: Compile with CONFIG_IPV6
and CONFIG_IPV6_TUNNEL both as modules, or not as modules. Fix
menuconfig to do this automatically when one is changed. Rearrange IPV6
support so core support does not depend on tunneling.
