Maby you simply add your chipset in driver, just like that: http://deimos.one.pl/ftp/radeonfb/old/radeonfb-rv250if-2.4.20-ac2-1.patch
Use this: lspci -v | grep ATI
And check of what _radeon_arch_ is it, then tray to add your radeon chip.
