> In theory it might be slightly faster, however GCC is a fairly good > compiler on i386 anyway. Hmm, i've seen comparative tests with gcc3.2 and the latest intel c++ compiler. gcc had better results with most of the tests, but not all of them. I wish i could give a link without searching.
