I have the A7M266-D with an AOPEN 24x10x32 IDE CDRW and haven't had a single failure yet while burning CD-R(W)'s. By the way, are you still using this same motherboard?

That one isn a unique report. MPX boards seem to have problems burning CD-R's. I have no idea why
