arch/mips/kernel/traps.c show_code() is a good example. It prints

Code: xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx <xxxxxxxx> xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx

So it prints a few words either side of the failing instruction and
marks the failure by '<>'.
