Hi!

I have the same problem, I think.. I never had a printer on my computer, so I don't know if the parport is ok, the kernel is ok, or the printer is ok.
on boot: nbond Super-IO detection, now testing ports 3F0,370,250,4E,2E ... Winbond chip at EFER=0x3f0 key=0x87 devid=fc devrev=3c oldid=8a Winbond chip type 83877F SMSC Super-IO detection, now testing Ports 2F0, 370 ... 0x278: FIFO is 16 bytes 0x278: writeIntrThreshold is 16 0x278: readIntrThreshold is 16 0x278: PWord is 8 bits 0x278: Interrupts are ISA-Pulses 0x278: ECP port cfgA=0x10 cfgB=0x7b 0x278: ECP settings irq=5 dma=3 parport0: PC-style at 0x278 (0x678) [PCSPP,TRISTATE,COMPAT,EPP,ECP] parport0: irq 5 detected parport0: cpp_daisy: aa5500ff(98) parport0: assign_addrs: aa5500ff(98) parport0: Printer, HEWLETT-PACKARD DESKJET 600
Very Cool, it sees my printer. :-) But it doesn't show up in the interrupts list: CPU0 0: 33354 XT-PIC timer 1: 4 XT-PIC keyboard 2: 0 XT-PIC cascade 4: 2958 XT-PIC serial 7: 1 XT-PIC MAD16 WSS 10: 2 XT-PIC NE2000 12: 3 XT-PIC PS/2 Mouse 13: 1 XT-PIC fpu 14: 27067 XT-PIC ide0 15: 4 XT-PIC ide1 NMI: 0 ERR: 0
It does in the ioports: 0000-001f : dma1 0020-003f : pic1 0040-005f : timer 0060-006f : keyboard 0080-008f : dma page reg 00a0-00bf : pic2 00c0-00df : dma2 00f0-00ff : fpu 0170-0177 : ide1 01f0-01f7 : ide0 0200-021f : NE2000 0278-027a : parport0 027b-027f : parport0 02f8-02ff : serial(set) 0376-0376 : ide1 03c0-03df : vga+ 03f6-03f6 : ide0 03f8-03ff : serial(set) 0530-0533 : MAD16 WSS config 0534-0537 : MAD16 WSS 0678-067a : parport0 0cf8-0cff : PCI conf1 f000-f00f : Intel Corporation 82371SB PIIX3 IDE [Natoma/Triton II] f000-f007 : ide0 f008-f00f : ide1
(why three times? I thought I had only one parport)

I also tried modules for PARPORT and PARPORT_PC
TIA for any info!

Anybody know how to fix this?
