    This particular bug is still present in gcc and has to do with the way gcc
    supports the older prof format (-p).
    ftp://oss.sgi.com/www/projects/kernprof/download/gcc-patch has a patch to fix
    the regparm/-pg combination at the expense of breaking -p further.
