actually this test seems to be ok, kernel oopses only if I use
# ./synk4 0 ip-of-machine 0 1023
this is strange/maybe a clue.
I've tried to use a patch to dump the kernel messages to floppy but the kernel prints more than 16k of messages and they get lost and couldn't get the first oops.
