I'm seeing this also for 2.4.0-test10-pre5. Here is /proc/meminfo followed
by the same for a 2.2 machine running the same set of applications.

[steven@spc steven]$ uname -a
Linux spc.esa.lanl.gov 2.4.0-test10 #1 SMP Tue Oct 24 06:54:40 MDT 2000 i686

[steven@spc steven]$ cat /proc/meminfo

Shared memory is very definately working on both systems.
For comparison, here is the /proc/meminfo for a VALInux box with
stock RH 6.2:

[steven@tstag steven]$ uname -a
Linux tstag.esa.lanl.gov 2.2.14-5.0.14csmp #1 SMP Wed May 31 09:23:37 PDT

[steven@tstag steven]$ cat /proc/meminfo
