Just tried it and it still works without a problem. Same card model and all.

Could you open a mixer application (gmix is a good choice if you use gnome) and unmute/change the Master/PCM/Line2/Line3/Digital2 volume. Yes it's a mess. The current development driver has this cleanned up, you can get it at:

Go to Options/Preferences. Select OSS driver output plugin.
