SubjectKernel panic: Unable to handle kernel paging request
I have a Debian GNU/Linux 2.2 (kernel 2.2.17) installed on a
Cyrix 6x86, sometimes it panics. As far I can detect the panics
occur when there is much disk activity (updatedb and
checksecurity are in progress). I was able to get the log of the
panic via the serial console.

The failing kernel pagin request seems to happen always at the
virtual address 53565755, if it can help...

I attach the very first lines of the log and the gzipped full
file. I was unable to compile the ksymoops because it does not
find bfd.h.

Can someone suggest me where to look for a solution? Sorry, I'm a
novice in kernel problems: I read the linux kernel FAQ, but no
clue...

I'm on a slow link, so I can't subscribe. Please CC to me.
