[1.] One line summary of the problem: inodes are no longer constant across VFAT mounts at kernel 2.2.14
[2.] Full description of the problem inodes are no longer constant across mounts at kernel 2.2.14. This breaks the GNU tar option -g for VFAT filestore. tar -g works fine at kernel 2.2.5 umsdos and msdos is similarly broken at 2.2.14
[3.] Keywords filestore vfat kernel

[5.] Output of Oops.. message N/A
[6.]A small shell script that demonstrates the problem Script: umount /DRVL mount /dev/hda15 /DRVL -t vfat df -k /DRVL ls -i /DRVL umount /DRVL mount /dev/hda15 /DRVL -t vfat df -k /DRVL ls -i /DRVL
