Hello Alan, Somehow ( I've tried this twice now ), I keep ending up with asm-i386/ptrace.h being gone ? I have taken a clean 2.2.10 tarball & applied 2.2.11-pre2 then applied 2.2.11-pre3 to that (correct ?) & then I do my make [""|old|menu]config , then the 'make dep clean bzlilo' (*) So what I've done is extract the asm-i386/ptrace.h from the 2.2.10 tarball . This stops the error below , But I am not sure this is the 'right thing' . Twys, JimL (*) it then complains with : gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -D__SMP__ -pipe -fno-strength-reduce -m486 -malign-loops=2 -malign-jumps=2 -malign-functions=2 -DCPU=586 -c -od init/main.o init/main.c In file included from /usr/src/linux/include/linux/binfmts.h:4, from /usr/src/linux/include/linux/sched.h:8, from /usr/src/linux/include/linux/mm.h:4, from /usr/src/linux/include/linux/slab.h:14, from /usr/src/linux/include/linux/malloc.h:4, from /usr/src/linux/include/linux/proc_fs.h:5, from init/main.c:15: /usr/src/linux/include/linux/ptrace.h:24: asm/ptrace.h: No such file or directory
