Hi Alan and all other kernel-guru's, here's a little patch for the traffic shaper with which it is possible to simulate a device with a higher latency.
This patch is against 2.2.10, and a patched shapecfg is available at http://www.lr.tudelft.nl/~lr788024/shaper/
A short demonstration of what this provides:
[root@spaans-smp linux]# shapecfg delay shaper0 0 [root@spaans-smp linux]# ping -q -c3 laptop PING laptop (10.0.0.99): 56 data bytes
--- laptop ping statistics --- 3 packets transmitted, 3 packets received, 0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max = 0.9/0.9/0.9 ms [root@spaans-smp linux]# shapecfg delay shaper0 100 [root@spaans-smp linux]# ping -q -c3 laptop PING laptop (10.0.0.99): 56 data bytes
--- laptop ping statistics --- 3 packets transmitted, 3 packets received, 0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max = 93.8/98.3/100.8 ms
