    When you are a vendor, yes you do. Because someone will be using an XT hard
    disk on a quad PII. I actually fixed the NCR53c400a support (ye irqless 8bit
    scanner scsi thing) for SMP because there are people mad enough to be using
    them in SMP boxes.
