I don't think it's overclocking, I see this on out-of-the-box machines too (two Siemens PCs, so I think no no-name stuff inside)
Try recompiling your kernel with gcc 2.7.2 instead of egcs (I'm trying this right now..), I saw some messages here about egcs being far from perfect.
