I keep getting similar messages from my kernel every couple of days. This is starting to worry me. Originally, I had my two drives (10gb fujitsu and 4gb samsung) on the same chain as hda and hdb now the 4gb is hdc (it is the older drive) as I thought that moving it may help reduce the problem, It doesn't seemed to have helped at all :(
Here are the hdparms for hda and hdc.
hdparm -i /dev/hda /dev/hda:
Model=FUJITSU MPC3102AT E, FwRev=6204, SerialNo=01064921 Config={ HardSect NotMFM HdSw>15uSec Fixed DTR>10Mbs } RawCHS=19841/16/63, TrkSize=0, SectSize=0, ECCbytes=4 BuffType=0(?), BuffSize=0kB, MaxMultSect=16, MultSect=off DblWordIO=no, maxPIO=2(fast), DMA=yes, maxDMA=0(slow) CurCHS=1244/255/63, CurSects=20000536, LBA=yes, LBAsects=20000536 tDMA={min:120,rec:120}, DMA modes: mword0 mword1 mword2 IORDY=yes, tPIO={min:240,w/IORDY:120}, PIO modes: mode3 mode4
hdparm -i /dev/hdc /dev/hdc
Model=SAMSUNG VA34324A, FwRev=JG101-25, SerialNo=0077SDJ7 Config={ HardSect NotMFM HdSw>15uSec Fixed DTR>10Mbs } RawCHS=14896/9/63, TrkSize=34902, SectSize=554, ECCbytes=4 BuffType=3(DualPortCache), BuffSize=478kB, MaxMultSect=16, MultSect=off DblWordIO=no, maxPIO=2(fast), DMA=yes, maxDMA=2(fast) CurCHS=525/255/63, CurSects=8446032, LBA=yes, LBAsects=8446032 tDMA={min:120,rec:120}, DMA modes: mword0 mword1 mword2 IORDY=yes, tPIO={min:120,w/IORDY:120}, PIO modes: mode3 mode4
I am assuming that it is the samsung, in that when I moved the samsung on to the second chain, the problem report moved with it.
At the moment, this is kernel 2.2.7 vanilla, although any 2.2.x kernel appears to produce this (I checked back in my messages logs)
Any light shed on this would be greatly appreciated (especially if CC'ed direct to me)
Many thanks in advance
Dan
