Just wondering why it is this way : linux/init/main.c ... #ifdef CONFIG_MTRR #include <asm/mtrr.h> #endif
and in the same file below
#if defined(CONFIG_MTRR) && defined(__SMP__) init_mtrr_config(); #endif
if I have UP system, mtrr is not configured ? No entry under /proc directory.
the kernel source 2.0.3[6,7]. $ cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 cpu : 686 model : Pentium II (Klamath) vendor_id : GenuineIntel stepping : 4 fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no f00f_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid : yes wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov mmx bogomips : 265.42
shows that there should be MTRR support.
Thanks in advance.
ps. Maybe it should be this way :
... #if defined(CONFIG_MTRR) || defined(__SMP__) #include <asm/mtrr.h> #endif
.... #if defined(CONFIG_MTRR) || defined(__SMP__) init_mtrr_config(); #endif
