Kernels haven't had names (but there was the "greased weasel" et al :), can't
it be just the number? Or, failing that, linux-0, linux-1-1, etc?

You'll soon run out of hackers. Besides, your proposal (or anything like
it) can't really be fair to enerybody involved.
