I have exactly the same problem as you with a Philips CDD3600
Worked perfectly in 2.2.1, almost guarenteed coaster production in 2.2.3
It always seems to fail after having written about 120M (20 %)
(Very sometimes a CD burn works, I have about 3 successes and 9 failures now)

keepsettings = 1 (on)
HDIO_GET_NOWERR failed: Input/output error
readonly = 1 (on)
BLKRAGET failed: Input/output error
HDIO_GETGEO failed: Invalid argument

(same with dma, with unmasqirq off and with io-support 0 or 1)
