Hi all, while doing a backup of a nfs mounted volume with bru (v15), the nfsd of the server machined has completely blocked a couple of hours after the backup started.
The server machine is a SMP PII Dual running linux 2.0.36, the client a Pentium 133. Both having the same nfsd (nfs-server-2.2beta37) and 3Com905 connected to a 100 Mbps cisco switch.
The server gave no errors, just some nfs timeout errors in the client. I could restart the nfsd, I had to kill it -9 and restart it.
Is it a nfs related problem or kernel (SMP) one?
Thanks.
PS: yes, sorry, I forgot to take a look to the process status, but I was nervious, all linuxes in the LAN were nfs-blocked...
