Subjectlo weirdness
I noticed something weird ping flooding lo:

Linux mbit.doa.org 2.2.1-ac5 #1 Sun Feb 7 03:17:53 CET 1999 i686 unknown
13 day uptime

--- 194.134.136.157 ping statistics ---
3932 packets transmitted, 766 packets received, 80% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 0.416/65.357/146.442 ms

--- 194.134.136.157 ping statistics ---
2679 packets transmitted, 766 packets received, 71% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 0.419/65.481/156.117 ms

--- 194.134.136.157 ping statistics ---
2831 packets transmitted, 766 packets received, 72% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 0.417/66.995/156.383 ms

--- 127.0.0.1 ping statistics ---
139361 packets transmitted, 766 packets received, 99% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 1.371/179.254/354.923 ms

Notice the constant 766 packets received.
Also tcpdump lists everything twice:
12:31:57.592092 localhost > localhost: icmp: echo reply
12:31:57.592092 localhost > localhost: icmp: echo reply
12:31:57.592199 localhost > localhost: icmp: echo request
12:31:57.592199 localhost > localhost: icmp: echo request
(single ping)

Regards,

Simon Weijgers
