Hi !
Since upgrading to 2.3.34 I noticed some warnings like
elfie:~ # tail -n2 /var/log/warn Dec 21 20:24:23 elfie kernel: hdb: multwrite: count=2, current=0 Dec 21 20:24:53 elfie last message repeated 16 times
in the logs.
elfie:~ # hdparm -i /dev/hdb
/dev/hdb:
Model=Conner Peripherals 1275MB - CFS1275A, FwRev=8.32, SerialNo=EV9228R Config={ HardSect NotMFM HdSw>15uSec Fixed DTR>10Mbs RotSpdTol>.5% } RawCHS=2477/16/63, TrkSize=40887, SectSize=649, ECCbytes=4 BuffType=3(DualPortCache), BuffSize=64kB, MaxMultSect=16, MultSect=16 DblWordIO=no, maxPIO=1(medium), DMA=yes, maxDMA=1(medium) CurCHS=2477/16/63, CurSects=2496816, LBA=yes LBA CHS=619/64/63 Remapping, LBA=yes, LBAsects=2496876 tDMA={min:120,rec:120}, DMA modes: *mword0 mword1 mword2 IORDY=on/off, tPIO={min:270,w/IORDY:120}, PIO modes: mode3 mode4
When I disable the blockmode with "hdparm -m0 /dev/hdb" the warnings go away ....
