    It compiles fine for me, both as a module and as builtin. There have
    been no changes to the symbols in loop.c nor the drivers/block/Makefile
    loop definition since at least 2.3.20. Suspect user error. What
    errors do you get, details please, "doesn't compile" is a bit vague.
