Great stuff, Paul, it works like a charm now. Disclaimer, I did not test 'in
place' against 2.2.12, I upgraded to 2.2.13 and then applied your patch, and
it solved my problem. I can now read every as often as I want without
disturbing my PPP session.

So true. I think I'll continue working on freedirector tonight.
