    Subject[2.2.13-pre15] null pointer exception in find_inode
    bug-report in "/usr/src/linux/REPORTING-BUGS" format

    i got an kernel oops in find_inode

    [2.]

    when upgrading kernel from 2.2.13-pre15 to 2.2.13-pre16 i experienced few
    kernel OOPs.

    i performed following:

    cd /usr/src
    rm -rf linux-2.2.13-pre15/*
    mv linux-2.2.13-pre15 linux-2.2.13-pre16
    rm linux.13p15; ln -s linux-2.2.13-pre16 linux.13p15 < that was mistake :) >
    mc
    {cp ./linux-2.2.12/* ./linux-2.2.13-pre16} - in MC
    segmentation fault less than second after confirming copy by OK

    after that, i switched to console and dumped some info (see section 7.5) and
    when returning back to X computer hangs (maybe it hangs after pressing
    Alt+Ctrl+BkSpace - i do not know).

    (here i have to note that when starting copying in mc, mc is IMO making
    "summary" of source directory because it "hangs" for a second or two before
    first file is copied. xome disk activity is there while making this
    "summary")

    in /usr/src/linux-2.2.12 i got full 2.2.12 kernel source tree.
    in /usr/src/linux-2.2.13-pre15 i got full 2.2.13-pre15 kernel source tree.

    such problems i experiences also when upgrading from 2.2.13-pre11 to
    2.2.13-pre15 (running 2.2.13-pre11 of course) - see previous reports.

    when doing same thing under 2.2.13-pre16, no problems occured. maybe longer
    uptime is required (but see some notes in 7.5 section).

    'su' processes were in 'D' state. here's 'ps' output for them:

    no other processes seems to hang when started after oops (i opened few
    Eterms after oops messages sucessfuly).

    and while i'm finishing this report running 2.2.13-pre16 and after trying
    'trigger' operations i'm feeling i made kernel somehow unstable while normal
    scrolling of text in 'joe' keeping 'down arrow' pressed is "slow" (muxh
    slower than normal) in Eterm under Xwindows. and also it looks like that
    much more CPU is used even when "doing nothing" (i have GNOME desktop with
    CPU monitor, so i think i can tell that by "eye observation").

    but no oops or crash yet.

    and my 'image conversion' have been just completed under this latest
    2.2 AC kernel - 2.2.13-pre16 - (it tooks about 7 hours).
