SubjectISSUE: Hanging machine after Console-Switching

# Bugreport about hanging machine after Console-Switching.

1. Hanging machine after Console-Switching

2.

The problem: After some switching of the console (hitting alt-left or
alt-right or alt-print) the machine just hangs.
No key events are processed, a reset is necessary.

Symptoms:
- After calling SVGATextMode there is (often) some garbling on the
current console (new chars are printed, others are lost, colors
are changing). In an editor one can call redraw to clear this.
- The same effect I get when switching the console with alt-left ...
- After some or many or very fast switchings the machine hangs.
I have to push the reset button, CAD don't work.
- This also occurs after a shutdown -h .
- All this does not occur with a 2.0.36 kernel.

Cards:
- Multi-IO with HD/FD-Parts hopefully deactivated, but no jumper
documentation available. Seems to work, that is: Serial and parallel
ports are taken from here, and HD/FD-Controller from the
EIDE-Controller.
- EIDE-Controller from Future Domain: IDE-16032/16042
for 4 EIDE-Devices, but without Serial/Parallel/Game-Ports.
- Grafic Controller: Mach32 OEM with VRAM(2Mb)
- NE2000
- Soundcard: Terratec Maestro 16SE
