When running quake2 (3.20), libc6 or libc5, I get an immediate kernel oops:

Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address ffffffa5 current->tss.cr3 = 04dc1000, %cr3 = 04dc1000 *pde = 00000000 Oops: 0002 CPU: 0 EIP: 0010:[<c5a55860>] EFLAGS: 00010282 eax: 00000000 ebx: 00000000 ecx: 00000000 edx: c4dbeac0 esi: 00010000 edi: c01dc8e0 ebp: 00000027 esp: c4d19f60 ds: 0018 es: 0018 ss: 0018 Process quake2 (pid: 166, process nr: 21, stackpage=c4d19000) Stack: bffff9a8 c4d19fc0 fffffff7 fffffff4 c4d18000 c010ba01 c5a55860 00000000 00010000 00000002 00000001 00000000 c4d18000 00010000 bffffbbd 08771754 c5a55860 c4d18000 00000000 00010000 00000002 00000001 00000006 00000000 Call Trace: [<c010ba01>] [<c0107984>] Code: c0 5b a5 c5 20 7f 1c c0 c0 84 69 c2 c0 ae 00 c0 03 00 00 00

At this point my /dev/dsp becomes forever busy, i.e. I can not play sound, so I am assuming the abot has something to do with a sound problem (that and the fact that the last message from quake2 is "sound initialization").
Also note that if I now run quake2 again, it runs fine other than the fact that I cannot get sound -- since quake2 see's /dev/dsp is busy it does not try to initialize it and thus avoids the oops. I am using the OSS pre-compile sound drivers for 2.2.0-final.
Some pertinent information about my installation (if more is needed please let me know!):
