One thing I see now that I examine the mail headers more closely, is that I am receiving linux-kernel via listserv.funet.fi:
Received: from listserv.funet.fi (listserv.funet.fi [128.214.248.27]) by quark.vpplus.com (8.8.5/8.8.5) with ESMTP id RAA06655 for <bgerst@quark.vpplus.com>; Mon, 11 Jan 1999 17:17:05 -0500 Received: from vger.rutgers.edu ([128.6.190.2]:62267 "EHLO vger.rutgers.edu" ident: "NO-IDENT-SERVICE[2]") by listserv.funet.fi with ESMTP id <15396-13084>; Tue, 12 Jan 1999 00:12:18 +0200 Received: by vger.rutgers.edu via listexpand id <157390-8100>; Mon, 11 Jan 1999 14:45:23 -0500 Received: by vger.rutgers.edu id <154395-8100>; Mon, 11 Jan 1999 10:59:06 -0500
This means that mails are being bounced across the Atlantic *twice* (vger->Finland->Detroit). Are there any repeaters in North America?
I did notice that since the weekend, the list has been flowing much better, presumably because of restricting CVS access on vger. Time to seperate the list and CVS on different machines?
