I have been running the development kernel succesfully for 3 months now on my dual PPro. Upgrading to 120 causes my machine to hard lock on bootup with this remaining on the screen :
PIIX3: not 100% native mode : will probe irqs later ide0: BM-DMA at 0xf000-0xf007, BIOS settings: hda:DMA, hdb:pio ide1: BM-DMA at 0xf008-0xf00f,
My motherboard supports IO-APIC and has not had any previous problems running SMP.
I have read numerous reports of DMA problems, however I have not had a single problem before 120.
The two devices on ide1 are 8X ATAPI CD-ROMs.
Just curious if there has been any changes (PCI/IDE/?) between 119-120 that would warrent such a lockup, or any tips to help me diagnose as to why 120 locks when 119 and below ran beautifully.
Thanks in advance.
