I havn't tried >2.1.118 (but will today) but the last time I checked the SB16 driver (I've tried three sb16 type cards) locks my dual 166mmx hard when there is disk access. While the same kernel (and same hdd) in a dualPro (with one cpu but smp kernel) with crystal sound works fine.
Do I need to mail you my system? :)
