hi,
i try to port linux on a prep vme-card, so i have some trouble with scsi disk.
i made the kernel with these options : - scsi disk support - ncr52c8xx scsi support (my chip, of course) - use normal io (no effect on a ppc) - synchronous transfers freq : 0 (i tried the default 5 Mhz too) - not allow target to disconnect
my machine is a ppc 604, my disk is a seagate ST3123, my kernel version is 2.1.57.
during the boot process ....., we arrive at : 'scsi : 1 host' (until here, everything seems to be ok)
then, i put some printk_debug and the bootprocess loops on :
ncr52c8xx_reset : pid=1 reset_flags=2 serial_numder=xx serial_numder_at_timeout=xx
Where i must concentrate my search : my port of linux is not very well ? or there are bugs like mine in kernel 2.1.57 ?
thanks and sorry for my english
herve, hrey@cetia.fr
