I have dual PPro 150s with onboard aic7880 (essentially an AHA 2940U) controller, 2 scsi hds, scsi DDS tape and scsi cd drive and I've seen no problems related to the cd. I've run 2.0.34, 2.1.108, 2.1.115-2.1.120pre3.
