I don't trust him either. Among other things, he changed signal() behavior.
Gee, thanks for breaking all the apps with SysV expectations.

The fix is simple. Both Red Hat and Debian can automatically apply
patches at package generation time. I have a list of about 1/2 dozen
stupid glibc misfeatures, many of which could be fixed with a
simple patch.
