SubjectRe: No BIOS, load Linux fr EEPROM

  I don't think that the kernel uses the BIOS at all.  There may be a
driver that uses the BIOS, but most don't. LILO most likely uses the
BIOS to load the kernel.

It is my understanding that Linux is designed to be embedable.
