SubjectA plea to end the SPAM!!!

I think a few of my e-mails did not make it through, and they might have
answered many questions if they did. However, I'll try to be quite
brief...

Linus: What is your take on the Device FS, and do you have a stance on it
becoming an option in the *official* tree as a non-default option? The
good thing would be that more people would be encouraged to try it, cuz
they don't have to go get a patch every time it comes out.

All: I tried to start a push to get the devfs patch in the tree because I
think rather than sidestepping problems, it quite gracefully offers a
solution from a fresh approach, and doesn't break anything, even old-style
functionality.

It heads off whatever problems exist at the pass, before they can become
problems. Whether you think the problems are big or not, DEVFS is small,
and VERY simple fundamentally IMHO.
