In 2.1, some bright spark decided to take smbmount and stuff it up completely. Now you have to use some obfuscated version which is just a hacked version of smbclient, and it comes with samba.
I personally would like to see it rolled into the mount command, for intelligences sake. What the hell is wrong with "mount //server/share /mountpoint -t smbfs" ?
At least reverting it back to the 2.0 way would be a major improvement...
