WCHAN is dead here too, in both procps-1.2.7 and procps-980802. You ought to upgrade anyway, because I need more cluefull people testing recent versions:

Anyway, it appears that the kernel always returns 0. The kernel code in fs/proc/array.c is full of arch-specific hacks. Fix it if you can, but I suspect the fix won't last.
